Who is responsible

ThreadedDad determines why and how the personal information described in this policy is handled and acts as the data controller. Privacy questions and requests can be sent using the contact details below.

Information this site handles

ThreadedDad does not currently offer visitor accounts, forms, newsletters, purchases or payment processing on threaded.dad. You do not provide personal information directly through this website.

Like most websites, the hosting infrastructure may automatically process basic technical information needed to deliver and protect the site. This can include an IP address, browser and device details, requested pages, timestamps and similar server-log information. It is used for security, reliability and troubleshooting, not to create advertising profiles.

Why information is handled

Technical request and security information is handled where necessary for the legitimate interests of operating, protecting and troubleshooting the website. The analytics consent cookie is used only to remember the choice you made. Google Analytics is used only with your consent. Public TikTok content is displayed in the legitimate interest of showing ThreadedDad's latest work without embedding full social-media players.

ThreadedDad does not use visitor information for automated decision-making or profiling and does not sell personal information.

Optional analytics and cookies

ThreadedDad uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages and content are useful, including visits, guide downloads and clicks to TikTok, Instagram and the support page. Analytics is optional. The Google Analytics tag is not loaded and no analytics information is sent to Google unless you choose Accept analytics.

After consent, Google Analytics may process technical and usage information such as IP-derived location, browser and device details, referring pages, pages viewed, approximate session timing, guide downloads and selected outbound-link clicks. It may use first-party cookies to distinguish visits and sessions. Google provides the analytics service and handles that information under its applicable terms and its privacy policy. ThreadedDad does not intentionally use Google Analytics to identify individual visitors, and does not use it for advertising, remarketing or advertising personalization.

A small first-party cookie named threadeddad_analytics_consent stores only whether you accepted or rejected analytics. It expires after 12 months. If you accept, Google Analytics may set _ga and a property-specific _ga_* cookie to distinguish visitors and maintain session state. Google documents a default expiry of up to two years for those cookies.

Rejecting analytics does not limit access to this website or the free guide. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through Cookie settings in the footer. Withdrawing consent stops new analytics events and removes Google Analytics cookies that this site can access.

Separately, the private TikTok account-authorization flow uses short-lived, essential cookies to protect that connection from request forgery and report whether it succeeded. Normal website browsing does not use those cookies.

TikTok

ThreadedDad may use TikTok's official API to retrieve public profile and public video information from the ThreadedDad TikTok account and show the latest three videos on this website. The ThreadedDad account owner will authorize that connection. Website visitors will not be asked to sign in with TikTok or connect their own TikTok accounts.

The displayed information may include the ThreadedDad profile name or image and public video details such as titles, descriptions, cover images and links. Authorization credentials will be kept server-side and will not be shown to visitors.

TikTok is a separate third-party service. If you follow a TikTok link, or when a public TikTok cover image is loaded from TikTok's delivery network, TikTok may receive technical request information and handles it under its own privacy policy.

Hosting, external links and third parties

This website is hosted by Netlify. When you visit, Netlify may process the technical request and log information described above, including your IP address, browser and device details, requested pages and timestamps, to deliver and protect the site on ThreadedDad's behalf. Netlify describes its data practices in its privacy statement.

Links may take you to TikTok, Instagram, support services or other external websites. Those services control their own data practices. Their privacy notices apply once you visit them.

Optional support through Ko-fi

Supporting ThreadedDad is optional and takes place on Ko-fi, not on this website. If you make a contribution, Ko-fi and its payment providers handle the payment. Ko-fi may provide ThreadedDad with information connected with that support, such as your display name, email address, message and transaction details.

That information is handled where necessary to administer the support you requested and meet applicable legal or accounting obligations. Responding to related messages and preventing misuse are legitimate interests. Ko-fi controls its own processing under its privacy policy.

International transfers

Netlify, Google, TikTok, Ko-fi and their service providers may process information outside the European Economic Area. Where European data protection law applies, those transfers must rely on an adequacy decision, standard contractual clauses or another legally recognized safeguard. Their privacy notices provide further information about their locations and safeguards.

Retention

ThreadedDad does not maintain a database of visitor submissions. Technical logs are kept only as long as reasonably needed for security, operation and legal obligations, subject to Netlify's retention practices. If the TikTok integration is enabled, its account authorization information and cached public content will be retained only as long as needed to run and maintain that feature. When analytics is accepted, event-level information is kept only for the configured Google Analytics retention period and is reviewed when that setting or the purpose of analytics changes. Information received through Ko-fi is kept only as long as needed to administer the support and meet applicable legal or accounting obligations.

Your rights

Where the GDPR applies, you may request access to, correction or deletion of your personal information, restrict or object to certain processing, and request portability where applicable. You may withdraw analytics consent at any time without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal. Because ThreadedDad collects very little visitor information, there may be no stored information that can be linked back to you.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Dutch supervisory authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, or with the authority where you live or work.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the website or its services change. The date at the top will show the latest revision.
